Tinder has teamed up with GLAAD to introduce a new feature that welcomes all genders, serving as a great reminder that absolutely everyone deserves love. And Netflix and Chill.

The app’s latest revamp provides users with 36 new gender categories  including transgender, female, transsexual male, agender and genderqueer  for a much more inclusive dating experience.

The partnership between the dating platform and the LGBT organisation comes as a response to the problems that transgender users have experienced in the past.

With only ‘man’ and ‘woman’ as the available gender options before the update, users who identified otherwise were limited in expressing themselves through their profiles.

“It sends a strong message of acceptance when a platform like Tinder clearly tells its users that transgender people are welcome,” says GLAAD transgender program director, Nick Adams.
“This update reflects a growing awareness that trans people are part of the
fabric for everyday life, which in turn, accelerates acceptance for transgender and gender non-conforming people.”
