The Ballarat International Foto Biennale is back and it’s going to be big.

Held at the Art Gallery of Ballarat, the photography festival will this year house an exhibit on renowned photographer David LaChapelle.

If the name rings a bell, it’s because the photographer is responsible for some seriously powerful images of Madonna, Kanye, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hillary Clinton and more.

LaChapelle is regarded as one of the most important photographers of our time and this will be the first time his work has been exhibited in Australia.

Since kicking off his career at 17 years old, when his work caught the eye of Andy Warhol, LaChapelle’s photography has graced the covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ and Rolling Stone.

The exhibit will showcase 90 of LaChapelle’s works spanning 30 years and run as part of Foto Biennale, August 19 - September 17.
