Pleats x 3.

Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival is holding a runway dedicated entirely to pleats.

Independent Melbourne designers Kara Baker, Nevada Duffy and Alice Edgeley will all show at the exclusive offsite runway, Pleats x 3.

You’ll get the chance to see each designer’s Autumn/Winter 2017 capsule collections, with each celebrating the art of handmade pleating.

The event aims to create awareness around the specialist trade, in an attempt to breathe life into a skill often overlooked in favour of a machine.

To inspire their designs, each label will take a dip into the Specialty Pleaters archives for vintage pleating moulds.

You know your Friday night’s festivities are sorted when tickets are just $28.
