The National Designer Award, presented by David Jones and supported by Harper’s Bazaar, is back for 2017 and we now know the finalists.

It's the nation’s most prestigious and highly regarded industry award for emerging fashion talent. Previous award winners include Dion Lee, Toni Maticevski, Strateas.Carlucci, Pageant and Macgraw.

So yep, it's kind of a big deal. Making up the shortlist is:

  • Lois Hazel
  • Anna Quan

The winner will be announced on March 1 and receive a business development prize pack valued at over $100,000.

The prize includes a place in the Australian Fashion Chamber's Paris showroom, David Jones integration and $15,000 cash. The winner will also receive business consulting services, lookbook styling assistance, international flights and market support from The Australian Global Fashion Alliance.
