VAMFF's calling.

Veronica Stanford

You’re probably already aware that VAMFF has recently opened its applications for 2017. But it’s not just the fashion you can get involved in.

The 2017 VAMFF Arts Program will be one of the most comprehensive yet, including festival-produced initiatives and activites across art, design, performance, film and writing.

Applications are now open for both Australian and internationally-based short filmmakers to submit their work for the Fashion Film Series. The competition will see finalists given the opportunity to have their work shown, both live and digitally, during the festival.

If you’re an aspiring writer, you can apply for the Fashion Writing Series. The series will give selected applicants the chance to receive mentorship from an industry leader at an online or print publication.

Emerging designers

This year’s festival will also see another partnership with Jakarta Fashion Week. Emerging Australian designers can now apply for the Australia-Indonesia Fashion Exchange. The exchange gives designers the chance to win $10,000 and their own show at Jakarta Fashion Week.

Applications for all programs are now open, as well as those for volunteer positions, and should be submitted by September 30.
