Aje’s latest collection is inspired by iconic Indigenous artist, Minnie Pwerle

Featuring over 26,000 Swarovski crystals.

Bound by a love of innovation and timeless style, Swarovski has joined Aje for its Resort 17/18 collection, Awelye.

The collaboration has seen Aje design three runway looks using over 26,000 Swarovski crystals. It re-imagines the brand’s traditional fabrications, opting for a unique application inspired by Indigenous body paint designs and the rolling terrain of Australia’s natural landscape.

Set in the Australian outback, the campaign location was home to iconic Indigenous artist and this season’s inspiration, Minnie Pwerle.

The designs made their debut at the Aje runway show at the Art Gallery of NSW on Monday. The event also showcased an intricately embellished gown using scattered black and white Swarovski to represent the stars in the midnight sky of the Australian outback.

And while we’re all a little devo we couldn’t see the *glam* garments in the flesh, check out the highlights above.
