In news that will make your wardrobe a much happier place, you can now dress just like everyone’s favourite person, Zoë Foster Blake.
Melbourne label Skin and Threads has just dropped its first collection with the journalist, author, entrepreneur and mother of a very cute little boy. And just like Sonny, it’s adorable.
The energetic collection, titled Iced ZoZo, is inspired by Foster Blake’s favourite foods, animals, her sense of humour and also, Aussie culture.
“Skin and Threads offered me the chance to do anything - ANYTHING - with our collaboration,” says Foster Blake.
“I was sure my taste would be too fruity, but no, I was given total freedom to have my ideas sartorially realised.”
With strong vibes from the early ’80s and ’90s, the quirky collab pays tribute to takeout and our beloved homeland.
“Here’s hoping my love of bright colours, lobsters and hot chips translates,” says Blake.
With pieces like The Glitter Chips Tee, a simple white shirt with Chips splashed across it in red glitter, how could it not translate?
Blake has even included a blazing red intarsia merino sweater displaying a large cockatoo, which the Wrong Girl author considers a good luck charm.
“Cockatoos are my good luck omen,” she says., “I will be wearing that jumper to important meetings for decades to come.”
Obviously she wants us all to share in her good fortune, and we are happy to oblige.
Other nods to the motherland include: the Southern Skies Shirt, a silk shirt littered with tiny Southern Cross stars, and the uber cool Melbourne At Night Logo Tee, reppin’ the Melbourne skyline as retro print.
Using pure and natural fabrics, Iced ZoZo is a fitting addition to Skin and Threads, which prides itself on its luxurious and casually elegant style.
So the question is, why do you not already own a lobster sweater?
Shop the pre-sale now at the Skin and Threads website. The collection will be available in six Skin and Threads stores nationwide, as well as the brand’s Myer concessions.
