Marques’ Almeida Spring/Summer ’16 lookbook

Irregular cuts, uneven finishes and BRAZIL.

After taking home the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers last month, we knew it wouldn’t be long before creative duo Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida of Marques’ Almeida were back in the limelight. The two have just revealed their Pre Spring/Summer 16 RTW collection and it is AMAZINGLY DIFFERENT. From the threads to the photography, to shooting Marta’s sister in Brazil as model.

Despite including their signature frayed and rough-cut denim styles, the UK label is changing things up for the warmer months with a staple spaghetti strap slip, tighter fittings, billowing white fabrics, ribbon-like layers and tropical prints.

Aligned with the collection’s irregular and uneven finishes, Brazil’s outdoor landscape gives a raw backdrop, with each look giving something entirely unique and innovative.

As the LVMH prize entails, Marta and Paulo will have their very own show in London Fashion week this September, and if this is anything to go by, we cannot wait.
