The year's Resort '18 collection from Zimmermann is inspired by Latin themes and the muse of a fiery, lovelorn artist.

And if the above photos from last week's show don’t make you want to swan around Italy, set up your easel and call everything your muse, then we’re not on the same page.

“Resort is always a collection for us to have fun with, to keep relaxed and to explore ideas and themes that are inherently Zimmermann at their heart,” said creative director, Nicky Zimmermann, of the Painted Heart collection showcase in New York.

And it’s clear to see all of that in this ready-to-wear collection. Along with their signature embroidered dots making an appearance again, the pieces are all very romantic. Silky slips sit alongside natural fibres like linens and organdies, in muted colours of salmon and straw.

The key print of the collection is bold paint strokes against crisp white, seen on day dresses featuring tight waists and full, floating sleeves.

As if we weren’t already dreaming of our next holiday.
