Name: Origins Modern Friction Cleansing Oil with Radiance-Boosting White & Purple Rice
Price: $29
What it does: A dual-phase cleansing oil that emulsifies with water, transforming into a creamy milk. Legend has it the Japanese women who bathed in rice water were renowned for their youthful glow
Key ingredients: White rice (rich in starch and oil) and purple rice (antioxidant properties)
Available from: mecca.com.au

How it feels/smells/looks

Like these babies. The white rice oil is lower in density, so it sits above the purple, meaning you need to give it a good shake before applying. Once combined, the formula is quite viscous, making application feel like quite a lush process.

Why I like it

Cleansing oils are convenient! For those nights when I cannot be bothered splashing my makeup off, I start by rubbing the oil onto my face so I have no choice but to rinse it.

It’s the beauty equivalent of driving to the gym, just to force yourself to go.

Areas for improvement

Not the greatest cleansing oil I’ve used. It’s a little harder to wash off and it left my skin feeling a little dry.

Final comments

Not my jam, but decent for the price.
