The seven best Lisa Eldridge make-up tutorials

Learn from one of the best make-up artists in the biz.

Whether you’re obsessed with make-up and spend a good portion of your week watching make-up tutorials on YouTube or are confused by the whole thing and just don’t know how to get into it, then Lisa Eldridge should be in your life regardless.

She’s an English make-up artist and is one of the best in the industry. Her work is regularly featured in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and she’s done red carpet make-up for pretty much every celeb you can think of. Kate Winslet, Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, Tyra Banks and Emma Watson to name a few. She’s also worked with Shiseido, Chanel and was recently appointed creative director at Lancôme.

Basically she’s a big deal and for good reason. Her philosophy is all about light layers and naturally beautiful make-up. It’s effortless, chic and modern.

She has a YouTube channel and blog that she regularly updates so we rounded up our top seven from the bunch.

1. Jessica Biel at the Cannes Film Festival

Lisa recreates a lot of her celebrity looks and this one from Jessica Biel at the Cannes Film Festival is a dream. It’s pretty perfect for a wedding, formal or special occasion but light enough to wear every day. I basically bought that Dior palette immediately.

2. Meeting the ex make-up therapy

If you’re having a down day or you’re meeting up with the ex soon, this one’s for you. It’s quite a cathartic watch. Venting out all of your bae frustrations while learning how to best apply make-up when you’re upset, stressed and crying. #girltalk

3. How to cover acne and blemishes with foundation and concealer

Introducing the Lisa Eldridge pinpoint concealer technique. People with acne and blemishes can sometimes resort to caking the face when only a small portion of it actually needs attention. She starts with a light layer of foundation and targets any spots with a high coverage concealer and a tiny brush. Life-changing.

4. Foundation course

We don’t need to tell you this because I’m sure you already know but shopping for foundation can be a nightmare. This is the first video in a series of eight that covers everything from shopping for foundation, choosing the right shade, application, recommendations for different skin types and heaps more.

5. Glowing youthful day make-up tutorial for mature skin

Lisa makes 64-year-old Yvonne’s skin glow without emphasising lines and defines her eyes without making them seem harsh. It’s probably something you’ll end up linking to your mum, auntie and grandma because Lisa seriously performs magic. So much talent.

6. Keira Knightley red carpet look and how to wear an orange lip

Lisa did this look on Keira for the UK premiere of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and it’s gorg. She shows us the different levels of building up a bold lip and how to pair it with a strong eye without looking too vintage.

7. Signature Kitten Flick eyeliner tutorial

Winged eyeliner and liquid pens are a pain. Lisa’s signature Kitten Flick is one she does a bajillion times over for celebs and models on shoots and the red carpet. Gel eyeliner. Brush. Go.
