First Look: Anatole’s take on Tiny Little Houses is your new Sunday tune

Your new favourite song.

We’re always on the lookout for new music, so when we find something we love, we want to share it with you. Even better? When said tune is from a local artist.

If you’re across the Aus music scene right now, or just tune into Triple J every now and then, you’re probably familiar with the folk/rock musings of the Melbourne quartet Tiny Little Houses.

The group’s debut EP You Tore Out my Heart was dropped in 2015 to a whole lot of love.

Today, we’ve got something a little special. The first ever re-take of a Tiny Little Houses song.

The remix of title track ‘You Tore Out my Heart’ was created by Sydney producer Anatole, who has stripped back everything from the song, bar the vocals and one guitar line.

Anatole (aka Jonathan Baker) explains: “My process involves starting from a sound or texture, rather than an overall structure. So Caleb’s (TLH) voice provided a great initial point for trying out all sorts of sounds – including my own first attempts at playing flute in the first half of the track.”

The result? A stunning electronic take on an already killer tune. It’s lounge vibes x dreamy soundscape and a whole lot of lovely.
